Hello.
3 years ago my gynecologist told me that I have endometriosis. I was on birth controls pills till 2008. I was feeling worse and worse. More bleeding and pain. Finally in 09/2008 I decided no more. I had the vaginal hysterectomy. The uterus biopcy said adenomyosis. Is it possible that birth control pills made it worse?
According to this article on the Mayo Clinic site and this article on New York University site, the cause of Adenomyosisis is yet unknown. The NYU article even mentions birth control drugs in combination with other drugs as a first line therapy of this condition. I don't see any information implicating birth control in making this worse, but it seems no one knows what does cause it.
