First thing to stop is worrying about telling your gynecologist.

That's their purpose, to take care of your health and they would rather do it before anything more serious develops.

You should make an appointment and bring the questions you want answered with you. Try to remember when it started, and if there are other symptoms present, but do go and if necessary, they will test and treat whatever it is.

It almost sound like a yeast infection, except the white would have a consistency of cottage cheese. Are you familiar with those? Merely Me, a writer and community leader for this site wrote an article about that, if you aren't, called, All You Ever Wanted to Know about Yeast Infections.

This article gives some information about the types of female discharges.

It may be some type of bacterial infection, given the different odor, but whatever it is, if it's continuing and has you worried, that's plenty of reason to be checked. You'll at least have peace of mind and have done what you can to make sure there will not be a larger problem from waiting.

Here is an article from the Mayo Clinic on vaginal odor. Note on the left are links to other sections, Causes, and when to see a doctor.

I hope something here helps.
