my boyfriend wants to have sex with me without a condom. he told me that his ex-girlfriend had some kind of procedure done for early cervical cancer or hpv that made her cervix "loose" so that if she had a baby, she would have to be on bedrest for months (although she was never pregnant before she told him this). if i had sex with him without a condom, will i get hpv or cervical cancer? i have been vaccinated but i know the vaccination does not cover all strains.

If she has an hpv, it can be passed onto him and he can pass it on to you.
There are over 100 strains of hpv. The vaccination protects against the two types of hpv which cause about 70% of cervical cancers. The Gardasil vaccination also protects against the two types of hpv which cause 90% of genital warts.
Genital hpv is passed by sexual contact, skin to skin, not by fluids, although some have been passed by hand to genital contact. Even condoms do not provide 100% protection.
