Q: Birth control pills... Which will not cause so many yeast infections?

I have heard that birth control pills can cause yeast infections. I have been having yeast infection after yeast infection since I started taking ortho tri-cyclen lo (1 1/2 years ago). I was wondering, are there certain brands that I could look into that will cause less yeast infections? Thanks.

You may want to try Yaz.

Hi CRB,

Thanks for your question!

This is something you should discuss with your doctor. In the meantime, check out Sexual Health Connection's preventing pregnancy page. There you'll find everything you need to know about your birth control options. This will help you have an informed conversation with your doctor so you can find the right birth control method for you and avoid yeast infections.

Hope this helps!

I am asking the same question! I was on ortho low for 6 months, I got a yeast infection EVERY month. then I switched to Yaz...and STILL got a yeast infection EVERY MONTH...It is driving me NUTS--and now I feel I am immune to so many antibiotics for Yeast Infection treatments.  I am looking to go on another birth control...any suggestions? or does anyone know which pill has the LOWEST dose of hormones?
