Q: Can I be pregnant 16 years after a tubal ligation?

I have had my tubes tied for 16 years. I am late on my cycle for this month. What are the chances I could be pregnant after that many years of having them tied?

Nothing is unheard of, it has happened that a few women have become pregnant after having had tubal ligation, even after years have gone by, but I doubt that is what has happened to you.

You can read this article by Merely Me, a writer and community leader for this site, about, Reasons Other Than Pregnancy for a Delayed Period.

Also here is a question she answered about this exact subject, earlier.

yes you can be pregnant

Tubal Reversal is a process for those women who would like to restore their fertility in order to have more babies. This surgery, also known as tubal ligation reversal, microsurgical tubal reanastomosis, and sterilization reversal, is done by opening the previously blocked fallopian tube so that the egg can be fertilized by the sperm. It is a very safe procedure...............
