my period stopped 10 days ago, i recently just started back on loestrin 24/7 birthcontrol again, but when i was taking loestrin before, i never had dark spotting after my period. now, all of a sudden, i am having dark spotting. could i be having a miscarriage? or what exactly does this mean?

Hi Natasha
Did you miss any pills or take them at different times? Sounds like you are having some breakthrough bleeding. And in looking up the side effects of this pill it seems that this bleeding is something which can happen: "Vaginal bleeding between periods (spotting) or missed/irregular periods may occur, especially during the first few months of use."
If you look at some of the forums discussing this pill...it seems you are not alone in having this side effect. Take a look at this discussion for example.
Your best bet is to give a call to your gynecologist to see what he or she says just for your peace of mind.
