Q: Could I be pregnant?

I've had many, many pregnancy symptoms-the same ones that I had when I was pregnant with my son. I'm having all of those same symptoms again, plus a sensation of movement very similar to what I felt with him, before anyone else could feel his movements. The problem is, I'm on Mirena, and I've had four negative HPTs....I've read a lot online about women being pregnant with Mirena and having false negative HPTs. I have an appointment with my doctor on the 31st, but my question is...could I possibly be pregnant? I'll list the symptoms I've had below, but I'm just curious if this is a possibility, and if not, what else it could be, or if anyone else has been in a similar situation with Mirena? Thanks!

Nausea

Headaches

Increased appetite

Occasional cravings

Tiredness

Lower backache

Nipple tenderness

Mild constipation

Heartburn

Increased urination

Feeling uncomfortably hot

Having trouble getting to sleep and staying asleep

The sensation of movement

But for your using Mirena, I'd be asking if it's a boy or girl going by your symptoms! You are very smart for going to see your doctor as soon as possible. Do you still have it inserted?

No birth control method claims to be 100% protective, so of course it is possible to become pregnant, just unlikely. Your doctor will end the speculation once and for all, I hope.

Here is a link to the manufacturer of Mirena, if you haven't gone there yet. Many of the effects you are feeling can happen to 5-10% of the women using the device. I hope it helps and I hope the doctor puts a good ending to your discomfort.
