Hello Tor

This is a highly personal decision.  Are there any other options than a total hysterectomy?  You could seek a second opinion.  But if this will cure you of pain, bleeding, and a fibroid that keeps growing...you may wish to consider this option.

What are your gut feelings about it?

Your doctor knows best but here are some options for the removal of fibroids from the Mayo Clinic.

I wish you the best of luck.  Please let us know how things turn out for you.
