I have been bleeding for three weeks and it's getting heavier, bright red and very clotted. I've started getting dizzy when I stand and have no energy. I cannot afford to go to the doctor, but I'd like to know if anyone has had something similar happen. I'm 29, 5foot 6, 130lbs, good health with a typically normal cycle. There is no chance I got pregnant and I don't have an STD.

I had an abortion that went wrong 7 years ago where two weeks after it was performed I began to hemorrhage and had to got to the hospital, to have the bleeding stopped.  My periods have been stronger and more clotted since, with a few times where I have bled cups and cups of blood at once, but it usually stops after about an hour.

I began with around two tbls every hour for about a two weeks and it was dark red, but this third week (the past 4 days)  it changed.  Bright red blood, about half a cup every two hours, and getting heavier today, with half a cup every hour... the same bright red with clots.   I'm just not sure what's going on, and I really cannot afford a doctor... but even if I could afford to go, I can't really get to one until friday (two days from now) as I live in a very remote area with no phone service (internet is through satellite) and no car until Fri.  Am I over reacting?  Should I just wait it out?.... is there something I can do other than stay hydrated (which I'm doing) to assist with the dizzyness?

Very concerned, stuck in the boonies and broke....

thanks

Hi

Listen...I am not a doctor but I am very concerned for you right now.  You can't wait to see someone.  Please do call your nearest hospital and ask them what you can do.  Do you have anyone there, family member or friend, who can help you to get to a clinic?  I would say that this constitutes an emergency.  Please seek help now.  And do let us know what happens okay?
