Q: Missed periods since stopping the pill

I stopped taking my pill ten weeks ago to become pregnant but have still not had a period. Im not pregnant as have done a test. Is this normal? I have been on the pill for 7 year and only ever taken one break, have i damaged or ruined my pregnancy chances?

No, you haven't hurt your chances, assuming nothing else has gone wrong during that time elsewhere. A woman should resume having periods withing three months. Most woman have them and start ovulating within 4-6 weeks. But some women, not for many months.

Every body has it's own schedule of hormones being returned to the way they were before beginning the pill.

If your period hasn't returned after three months, you should see your doctor and if you are very worried, you can see you doctor before then.

Here is an article which contains some information about the return of ovulation and menstruation, you might find something helpful there.
