Q: Wanting a baby again . . .

Hello everyone!!

My question is  . . . well possiblly a little unusual. I am 51 yrs old and have finally met and married a wonderful man!!! He is 50. My question is where and what do I need to do and find out so that I can possibly get pregnant!!??!! I had my tubes tied about 16 yrs ago and thought that I would never want any more children - I have 7, the youngest is 16. But I want very much to give my husband a child!!!! I have been reading and even asked my doctor about the possibility - he was not very optimistic!!! I REALLY want to have another baby and have discused this with my husband. He has no objection except with the fact that if by some mirical I did . . .we would be in our late sixties when the child is 18.

Please  . . . . does any one have any information and/or information I can use????

Thank-you for all your help and time!!!

Make sure you're aware of all of the possible complications associated with having a child at your age.  If you are aware and still want to give it a try, you should contact a fertility clinic in your area and see what the possibilities are.  You should be able to get a referral from your gyn/doctor. Good luck.

Oh yes, and don't rule out adoption as an option.  That may be the best bet for you.  As long as you can afford it, there are children in need of parents that go unadopted every year. You might check into that.
