Q: Does it mean I was abused sexual as a child if I'm turned on by watching violent acts on a movie?

When I watch horror movies I get aroused it scares me so I don't watch movies like that. I went through councleing as very young child and they detriminded that I was not abused but I'm pretty sure it's a trait of some who has been.

If you had to go through counseling to see if you were sexually abused as a child, you probably have at least been physically abused or verbally abused.  Both of these can cause this sort of thing.  Seek out a support group and see if they can help you.

I beleive that if you were sexually abused as a child, the affect would not being turned on by scary movies. Maybe, being scared increases your endorphins. Your body recognizes these feelings and interpits it in a way that creates arousal. Everyone interpits pain differently. We are all affected by something that stimulates us. Some people get aroused watching women getting raped. Some people get aroused by touching paint and having it on their skin (myself). I even get aroused (not sexually) when watching horror movies. I love horrer movies! There is obviously nothing wrong with you. :)

You need to get over not feeling comfortable about the feelings your body creates.
