Q: My hubby recently went and had a vasectomy behind my back a month ago what are our chances of ever

My hubby recently went and had a vasectomy behind my back a month ago , I found out Christmas Day when he tried getting intimate with after weeks , I immediately felt something different down there , a small puncture hole where the doc made the incision . He regrets doing it after we discussed it in depth, we could have just taken other alternative measures , had we talked it over first , kind of late for that , We had agreed to go back to the doc and see what our options are for reversal. I only wish he waited more than a week after seeing the doc to go forth with it. For me it feels so permanant , this could break up our home and family which we just started. Any advice on the reversals , does anyone know how long we have to wait until we can do a reversal after the vasectomy and how long for recovery time , will his sperm ever be normal again or did he destroy his reproductive system forever??

You'll need to talk to a doctor, preferably one who is most familiar with him, his history, current health and can evaluate his chances for reversal.

Here is content provided by the Mayo Clinic about, reversing a vasectomy.

There is a lot of information on the internet if you search on "vasectomy reversal."

But the best information usually lies with the doctor who performed the vasectomy.

Thanks for the helpful info , we are going back to the same doc to see what he has to say , hopefully we choose the right guy to fix the damage. Such a waste of time , money , and minimizing our chances for a future child , Thanks
