Q: women only answer please, sexual health question

im 16, and on the pill. last friday i had a alot of discharge out of no where when i wiped, and every few days since then i have alot of discharge and this weekend i wiped and had reddish/brownish discharge. i told my mom and she thought i had a bladder infection(even though it didnt burn when i went to the bathroom) and she gave me cranberry pills that the doctor gave her when she had a UTI and the blood was gone by the next morning. i dont know if it had anything to do with the pills because, like i said, it didnt burn when i peed. i am no where near my period so the blood worried me. i do not have stds(got tested a few months ago), i dont have cervical cancer(got a pap smear less than 11 months ago) so please do not try to tell me i have cancer. and i am not pregnant, i took 4 tests to ease my worry and they were all negative. i do have hypothyroidism, A.D.D, and have been on the pill for 2 years. what could it be? is it cause for concern or should i stop worrying?

Hello Yolanda

How are you feeling now?

If you have a bladder infection you would definitely know it by now.  Cranberry juice might help prevent one from happening but if you have one you need antibiotics given by a doctor.  I hope that by now you have seen a doctor.

Brownish blood indicates that this is old blood.  Sometimes the birth control pill can cause breakthrough bleeding.  But anytime you are bleeding between periods this is when you need to make an appointment with your gynecologist or at least call. There is nobody on the Internet who can diagnose you.  You need a doctor.

Hope you feel better by now.  Thank you for your question.
