Q: Can an ovarian cyst cause nausea and dizziness?

I've had ovarian cysts off and on since I was age 18, and I am now 33. I didnt start having them again until a year ago after not having had them for about 10 yrs. I have marked pain that consists of an occasional burning and sometimes dull to sudden sharp pain on right side . The pain spurts have been becoming more intense, causing dizziness and nausea. My Doctor did an internal exam and found nothing remarkable. Yet, I am still feeling crummy. He claims it is probably an intestinal bug.??? :/

Please know that I am not a doctor.

But I am a woman who has had ovarian cysts and I know from experience that they can cause nausea, pain, and dizziness.  If you have concerns I would get a second opinion.  If an ultrasound was not done I am not sure how the doctor could rule out an ovarian cyst.

You may want to read my article on ovarian cysts to check out the possible symptoms.

The bottom line is if you think something is not right it is better to be persistent and get things checked out.

Thank you for your question.
