Q: 21 and no sexual desire, it's gone poof!

lately since about a year and a half now i have no sexual desire, non at all and it's frusterating my partener. i had a baby 2 years ago, since then i've gained 50 lbs over the two year period. i am also on depo, why such a decline in sexual desire. i mean i feel like i would be perfectly fine with out  the rest of my life. it's not being afraid of having another baby, i'd like that.

Hi Shanti

 

From what you have said here, I would look at your method of birth control first.  Some of the side effects noted on many web sites including this one about the Depo shot is a change in libido and also depression.

 

I might ask your doctor for a different type of birth control if you are experiencing too many side effects with this one.
