Q: when should i start taking the pill wiht an irregular period?

My last period was two months ago and my doctor told me to start the pill the sunday after my next period. what do i do if i haven't gotten my period yet? and no its not because im pregnant because i took a test and it was negative.

I would ask the advice of a doctor on this one, mostly because the home pregnancy test you take "can" give you a false negative. To be on the safe side you should have the doctor check you to see if you could be pregnant. If it is confirmed that you are not then he/she will probably tell you to start you pills on the next Sunday. If you periods are not regular (as many women's aren't) being the pill should make you  regular. It may take a couple of months for it to regulate you. Remember though, follow the directions on the prescription and use additional protection for the first month.
