I had a miscarriage at the first week of Sept. Finally I had my first period. My OB.recommended to wait 3 periods before trying again. Is it really necessary to wait this long?

A quick check of information such as on this site indicates that your doctor is correct and some even recommend a longer time. There is other, possibly helpful, information there. I am sorry for the loss of your baby.

I would recommend you reading an article written by Merely Me, a writer and community leader for this site about infertility but less for that than that she also had a miscarriage and talks about it. I hope it would be some comfort.
