Q: I have penile discharge and minor pain when urinating. My gonorrhea test was negative. Any ideas?

About a month ago I started noticing a small amount of dried discharge at the end of my penis. The substance is very sticky and sometimes sticks shut the opening at the end of the tip. I went to a Doctor who guessed I had gonorrhea. He put me on antibiotics, but I wanted to get tested to make sure. I was on antibiotics for about 10 days and the symptoms went away. However when I got back the test results, they were negative. Since the symptoms were gone I assumed I had some sort of bacterial urinary tract infection and forgot about it. Now roughly two weeks after I stopped taking antibiotics the symptoms are back. In addition to the discharge, I also have minor pain when urinating(this was the case before antibiotics also). I also currently have a sore throat which may or may not be connected. Any advice on what I might have or what type of doctor I should see would be greatly appreciated.

Pain in urination and the continued presence of discharge says you should see the doctor again, or an urologist. I don't know what it might be but you shouldn't have continual pain or discharge. I would head for the urologist and if you are seeing one now, you should return, or try another if you're not satisfied.
