This is not, unfortunately, unusual in women in perimenopause or entering menopause. Perhaps she can discuss this with her gynecologist, there are things which can be done to relieve this condition, and they deal with this constantly. But it will be her decision since everything used to help our bodies with one thing, can have side effects we may not want or can handle.

The doctor can explain about hormone therapy and anything else they are familiar with. There are lubricants which can be purchased online or through your pharmacist which can be used, but sometimes those are not enough.

One thing I know is that it is very painful for the woman and should be taken very seriously.
