Q: I recently finished taking doxycycline but have developed a rash on my forehead, chest, shoulders, and back.

It almost looks like acne.  I finished the doxycycline about a week ago, maybe two.  Other than the rash, I have been feeling great. However, the rash is driving me insane. It makes me feel gross and I have been trying to cover it up hoping that it goes away. I am looking for any tips on how to get rid of it as soon as possible. Thanks.

On this site, information about this drug contains the following:

"What side effects may I notice from receiving this medicine?

Side effects that you should report to your doctor or health care professional as soon as possible:
•allergic reactions like skin rash, itching or hives, swelling of the face, lips, or tongue
•difficulty breathing
•fever
•itching in the rectal or genital area
•pain on swallowing
•redness, blistering, peeling or loosening of the skin, including inside the mouth
•severe stomach pain or cramps
•unusual bleeding or bruising
•unusually weak or tired
•yellowing of the eyes or skin"

I think you should contact your doctor for about this continuing rash, they need to know that you developed this rash while taking the drug and it's continuation and it's possible they have dealt with this and have information which could help.
