Q: Confused and need help

I have not had a period in 3 months and today I just got results of a abnormal pap.  Can anyone give me information about this?

A pap test is collecting cells off the lower end of your cervix. It's used to detected abnormalities in the cells which could indicate some conditions, like infection, pre-cancer, or cancer. It usually means that further testing is necessary and your doctor will arrange this with you. It does not mean you have cancer.

A good explanation of the pap test, it's results and further types of tests which may be needed can be found at this web site. It is a preliminary test, just indicative that further testing might be necessary.

What did your doctor tell you about your missing periods? It could be that they are related, or it may be a separate issue from your pap results. You can read about missing periods in this article and on the left are links to other parts of the article, including symptoms and possible causes.

I hope they help you some.
