What should a clitoris look like? I'm concerned that mine is not normal because it appears to have a "hook" of skin at the top that I can see when I pull back the hood.
Though most part of the human body will appear relatively similar on everyone, there are variations that make it hard to describe what is "normal." Like men's penises, all women's clitorises will be slightly different in appearance and fall within a range of size, distance from the vagina, and other factors. Unless you're experiencing some problem with function or developing pain or irritation, it's likely that your clitoris is just fine. If you're very concerned about its appearance, you might mention this to your doctor or gynecologist during your next visit.

Louise, you just described my wife's clit. I'd say you're quite normal. And its not embarassing. Most women can't easily see their clitoris and thus really don't know how it looks. Hope you feel better.
