Q: Do I need to take the morning after pill if I was on medication and missed a pill

I mssed a pill on Thursday and was also on medication that day I havent missed any more pills since then however in the same week had unprotected sex do I ned the morning after pill

Here is information on the scenarios when missing taking birth control pills.

According to the literature there, and on other sites, if you miss only one pill your should it as soon as you remember and continue with your regular schedule.

 

If you haven't taken the missed pill at all, you should still be alright but there may be some increased risk. The morning after pill is effective for 72 hours, while it's effectiveness tapers off slowly with the time from intercourse. You can take one, if you wish, assuming you are within that time frame.

 

Be prepared for a possible change in your period for a while, perhaps it will be a little different than usual. Not always though, but don't get worried.

If your next, normal period is late by more than a week, you can take a home pregnancy test.
