Hi there

I hope I am about to make you feel a lot better.

This site about menstruation explains what you might be experiencing:

During the course of your period, you'll lose about four tablespoons of fluid - less than 10 cl. The majority of women bleed most in the first few days, while some bleed most on the second and third days. Some stop bleeding for a while between the first and second day, some bleed their entire period, others get periodic "splashes" - small shower-like bursts of bleeding. Splashes are common when you've been sitting for a long time, when you exercise and when you get up in the morning. The vaginal passage is very elastic and changes shape with your movements. When you are active, for example, when you walk or  bend over, blood is pressed out by your movements, contractions and muscles. When your body is still, your muscles work less while your vaginal passage will be narrower, making it more difficult for blood to escape. Splashes consist of blood that has collected while you were sitting still. Women who bleed more will sometimes experience more splashes than other women. Splashes can feel a bit strange, as if you're bleeding profusely, but for the great majority of women very little fluid actually comes out - less than a half tablespoon.

Now if you are soaking up two or more pads or tampons within a short period of time...then maybe this is cause to talk to your gynecologist.  But I honestly think you are okay.  But if you are still concerned...there is no harm in talking to your doctor.

Feel better?  Thank you for your question.
