Q: On pill but why does my period come usually during last week of active pills instead of placebo?

I'm on the pill, but why does my period always come about 4 pills before the placebo pills start? The pill I'm on is 28 day Ortho Tricyclin or Trinessa generic for it. I have not missed any pills at all, but my cycle refuses to follow the birth control pill and will not come during the placebo or last pills in the pack, instead it comes in the last week of the active pills. I have been told I am protected as long as keep taking pill every day, but is this normal? Am I protected as my doctor and pharmacist claim and is this something that is a common occurance or rare and can anything be done about it? Because already tried switching from one pill to Ortho Tricyclin and doctor said no worries, great pill on market and he is an Obgyn and would know. Please tell me what info you can.

I would believe what your doctor and pharmacist are telling you, because other than the manufacturer, they have the most knowledge about birth control and in practical use by their patients, perhaps more.

You can contacxt the manufacturer and possibly obtain an answer about your menstrual cycle and why it occurs when it does at:

Customer Contact Center

1125 Trenton-Harbourton Road

Titusville, NJ. 08560-0200

According to them you are protected against pregnancy if you take the pills properly and at the same time each day.
