Q: Can there be a connection between my depressed sexual interest and my husbands drinking?

For two years I have had absolutely no sexual desire. During this time my husband changed jobs, began drinking to the point that I worry he is an alcoholic. Can there be a connection between my depressed sexual interest and his drinking?

Hi there

This is a difficult question for anyone to answer but I will tell you that you should not blame yourself for your husband's drinking behavior. If he is addicted to alcohol it has nothing to do with you...rather he has a psychological and physical addiction.

I think it may be time for you to have a heart to heart talk with your husband to let him know that you are worried about his drinking. It may also be wise to have you both seek counseling so that you can work together to make things better for your both.
