Q: my sons and his girlfriend recently had sex and their condom malfunctioned, she is taking Doxycycl HTY and Lo Loestrin Fe, is she likely to become pregnant? She is in her ovulation timeframe.

She was told that her birthcontrol may be less effective because of the acne medication she is on. What precautions should she take, when is it late enough to take a pregnancy test, and should she stop taking either of these medications until she knows due to possible side effect to an unborn child.

What's the name of the drug she is using for her acne?

Most antibiotics probably do not affect birth control pills as stated on this Mayo Clinic site, the last paragraph. They do list one which is known to affect birth control, but is not widely used.

Then too, is the question of her using her birth control correctly, on time, which only she can answer. There is always a small risk of pregnancy. She can take a home pregnancy test if her period is more than a week late.
