Q: Can hormons cause mini strokes in some women?

I had a hysterectomy in 1972 and have taken hormones (Permain) in different strengths, ever since. Had a mini stroke about 12 years ago. Have had several mini strokes since then, but had no noticable symptoms. MRI of brain shows several white spots on brain. Was hospitalized in Oct. suffering from a mini stroke. I was taken off Peramin. Do you believe Permain and all other replacement hormones, contribute to my having mini strokes?

I don't think there is anyone here qualified to make that judgment. Here is some information on Premarin (I assume that's what you meant) from Drugs.com. You can read that. It mentions not using it to treat heart disease because it may increase the risk of developing these conditions, but it doesn't say what those might be.

I wish I could help you find the information, but there may not have studies on this. I just don't know. Maybe someone else will, yet.
