Q: What does it mean when your period is watery?

I started my period yesterday, on schedule and as usual. It was normal for the first half of the day, and then it got very watery. I woke up in the middle of the night, thinking I was in desperate need of a new pad, and it was not blood. I just had a clear, odorless, watery discharge. I still have it today. It has caused me to go through tampons very quickly. What could this mean?

Hi there

I am going to tell you to go see your gynecologist to see what this is about. I am not a doctor but in researching your question I am finding anything from polyps to pregnancy to menopause to hormonal imbalances when people talk about having a watery period. It may also be the case that there is nothing wrong but you won't know until you are seen by a doctor.
