"Being in a couple is great as long as you have the same interests," says Karen O'Brien, a 24 year-old from Brooklyn, NY, "Otherwise you end up somehow compromising to find something you both want to do-which is usually watered-down fun that neither of you fully enjoys."
Keith Dillon, 24, of Austin, TX, enjoys having his freedom when he is single, but like most people I spoke with, he prefers "having someone to talk to, cooking for someone (or being cooked for) and having regular sex."
Relationships are an important aspect of our emotional and social lives, but singlehood can be an exciting, fulfilling, and positive time in your life. The best advice? Enjoy it while you can.
