Clinical trial for 'silicon womb' begins

An in vitro fertilization technique that uses a 'silicon womb' is being tested in the United Kingdom. Currently, embryos spend their first few days in a laboratory before being implanted in a woman's womb. But in this clinical trial, researchers will transfer the fertilized eggs immediately into the silicon device and then place it into the woman's uterus.
