Women who give birth to a boy may have a higher risk of postpartum depression than women who give birth to a girl, a French study suggests. Researchers studied 181 women who had recently given birth and found that women who had boys had lower quality-of-life scores than women who'd had girls. They also found a greater incidence of severe postpartum depression in the mothers of newborn boys.
