Women who take vitamin supplements both before and during their pregnancy appear to reduce their risk of having a miscarriage, new research suggests. Investigators interviewed 4,752 women during their first trimester of pregnancy to find out about their use of both multivitamins and prenatal vitamins. The researchers found that the risk for miscarriage was 57 percent lower for women who took vitamins than it was for women who did not take them.
