Thanks for your advice Sue.  It is true that some of us older women (i hit the big 40 this year) have larger pores.  But if we keep our skin clean as well as protected we can minimze blemishes and wrinkles as well as pore size.

For more information on suncreen tips, sunburn, and the truth about tanning, turn to these links.

Hope this helps and all the best, sue

This pore issue has been a problem for me too. Yet most sunscreen products only seem to leave my skin feeling greasy and pores looking blocked and large.

And the pores on my nose seem to be constantly black, not that evident yet still annoying. Isn't there anything to actually clean deep within the pore and push out that muck that seems forever stuck? :(

And yes I've tried products promising that, with skepticism. I was willing to believe they might work. But they dried out and irritated some parts of my skin and they only seemed to increase the oiliness.

Most of the time I still wash with plain water, it seems to be the best. Yet still doesn't quite get in there and get rid of all the muck.

I'm a guy by the way.

great post; very informative. I, too, am adamant about sun safety. I have recently created a blog about it if you are interested... http://startlookingdown.wordpress.com/

Since unprotected sun exposure could cause damage to people even in their early thirties causing skin sagging and lost suppleness, one would need to beef up one’s clothing. Wobbly upper arms are best shielded behind longer sleeves tops and one could land up paying around two hundred dollars for that. When summed up the costs incurred tally to over two thousand dollars, a reason sufficient enough for why you should wear sunscreen.
