well i have had another reconstruction to my nose, this time it involved taking a chunk from my left ear and putting that on my nose, no nostril rim still thou. but he has built up my nose and is growing tissue inside my nose which will eventually be my nostril! clever stuff, looks like it is taking this time fingers crossed. my ears are both now very small and cute. it is strange having a 3D image back to my nose as i was used to not having that ! so hopefully after one more op i just might have my nose back after all . a day i never thought i would have
to all you happy new year and remember being positive and happy is the first step to a full recovery

My dear tracy,
I read your post and they have been a great incouragement to me. I have been going through surgery since August. I have been through a lot like you. I feel like I finally have my nose back.
I work with the public at a local grocery store and over christmas I was looking pretty beat up. The comments I got from people were sometimes funny, sad and just plain crazy. One of my customers that come through my line all the time ask me if what was on my nose was a birth mark. Another asked me if I was attacked by a dog. I hated explaining myself to people. Telling them I had skin cancer. Then one day a customer came up to me and told me because of me that she had stopped tanning and was putting sun screen on everyday and checking herself. That made it all worth it.
I am through the hard time and I still have a discoloration to one side of my nose but am hoping over time it will inprove. It will never be perfect but I can live happy with it. I am greatful for the wonderful job the doctor was able to do at the molh center.
I am going into the new year with a better out look on life. I also have developed a lot of friends along the way. Take care tracy and my thoughts and love are with you always,
thank you for your comment
i agree although what we have been through is hard it also changes many things for the positive and my scars show what a warrior i am. i am still a long way off putting it in the past but am positive that eventually i will have a nose back. heres to a new year and eventually my new nose

What is your present situation regarding the skin cancer?
still waiting for next reconstruction but had some other health problems which i have had to put first, all i really want is to finish my nose so i can move on but think that i will leave it a year before i go through anymore as it has taken its toll on my family and i just need to enjoy my life with them. i can live for a bit longer with my nose like this as i have my beautiful family to support me x
