I am 37 and a female - had had a rash for over a year...started as red clusters on my neck....then my scalp was a mess (still is!) - doctors say that part is "sebborheic dermatitis of the scalp" Some creams/shampoos help, but it comes back. I also get itchy arms-- tiny bumps on forearms-- i itch them until they turn red! Sometimes my shins itch , but even when there is no rash there.... my underarms sometimes get red bumps that itch...then my sides (upper body) and shoulders get itchy and red.... it's a mess! I also have STRESS! Three kids under the age of the 3 and one with special needs. I have a swollen lymph node behine my ears...goes up and down a bit, when my scalp gets worse/better. The itching can sometimes turn to burning....and creams/shampoo can burn too. I have a heavy feeling in my upper chest and throat....some of this could be anxiety...but I am nervous it's something that the doctors aren't seeing. I have been to 4 dermatologists...had a clear chest x-ray last year- and perfect blood tests. Should I get another chest x-ray to rule out anything bad in there? This chest pressure is tough on my breathing....
any advice would be great. Will this ever end???
So far this sounds like my rash. But I'm not sure... See, mine started when I sat on a wet bus stop bench and then had to ride the bus for over an hour with a wet butt. Since then, (which was a few years ago) it's been sort of off and on. I can make it go away if I don't sit on it and if I use lotion on it. (usually Proactiv, that acne stuff.. it seems to work best)
Usually what happens is that it starts one one side of my butt/thigh and so I sit mostly on the other one, but then shortly after it goes away, it shows up on the other side. It doesn't have any destinctive characteristics like dots or anything, it just sort of looks like any area where you scrape the top layer of skin off and then scratch it too much, and when it heals, it looks like normal skin.
Does this sound like the rash you're talking about, or might it just be because I'm lazy and sit on my ass too much? Mind you, I'm not overweight, and I have friends who sit on their asses about as often as I do. But maybe they all have an ass-rash too, who knows?
