Q: I have had a nail like growth under my thumb nail for about 10 years.

This growth is just under the nail and it can be trimmed when I cut my nails.  There is a thin black streak under the thumb nail which runs up the nail.  It does not get any wider it only grows as my nail grows.  My dermatoligist can't figure it out.  Should I have a biopsy?

I use to have that happen when I had fake nails. It is dried blood or a fungus .. It will go away.. I can't figure out dermatologist can't figure it out. It is common when you get ur nails done at a nail place.
