I have had a nail like growth under my thumb nail for about 10 years.

This growth is just under the nail and it can be trimmed when I cut my nails.  There is a thin black streak under the thumb nail which runs up the nail.  It does not get any wider it only grows as my nail grows.  My dermatoligist can't figure it out.  Should I have a…
