Rosacea and Carac: I am a former rosacea sufferer (no longer use any meds because I have been in remission for about 5 years) who used Carac on my face recently for precancerous spots. I finished using the Carac on my nose about 6 weeks ago. While using the Carac, one side of my nose swelled slightly, (but very noticeably to me!). It didn't turn red and scab like the other precancerous spots. It just swelled. After finishing applying the Carac, the doctor had me apply a steroid ointment to my face to accelerate the healing. The steroid ointment immediately made a section of this swollen area turn red and bleed (not like the typical Carac reaction however - no scabbing, peeling, etc). I found that steroids really aggravate rosacea. Although I wasn't aware that I had rosacea on this part of my nose, apparently I did. Six weeks later, this side of my nose is still swollen. Not red, just swollen. I know it's not swollen much, but to me I look like a totally different person and that is disconcerting. The doctor does not seem worried in the least, he says he can't really notice it - "it's subtle". Has anyone else had experience with Carac and rosacea? Do you think if I went back on some type of rosacea topical or antibiotic it might make the swelling go down? Do you think it might still go down on its own over time? Sorry to ask so many questions, but I feel like finding someone who's gone through it might be more valuable to me than hearing the doctor say "It's subtle so don't worry about it".
