This is exactly what happened to me.  I am 5 weeks post-op and still have a large THICK scar that runs down the side of my face (toward nose) from my eye to the top of my lip.   I am trying Mederma and also vasaline (rubbing it in daily).  I go back to the doctor again in Feb.  I am going to ask about dermabrasion....   Good luck Kathy.   Dawn
