Q: A couple of days ago I had a precancerous spot on my face (below my right eye). This was found durin

my 6 mo checkup for melanoma on my back, which was removed about a year ago and was superfacial.  The spot on my face was froze off  with liquid nitrogen.  The top layer of the skin came off yesterday and to me it looks redder than it was.  I haven't used any cream or lotion on it, but was wondering if a small band aid would be ok to cover it up.  It almost looks like a carpet burn when it starts to heal, does this sound normal?  Thanks for your advise.

I am thinking of having the same procedure that you just went through istead of using the carac cream. The doctor is trying to get me to use the cream - he says that a white patch will remain there after it heals.  How long did it take for the top layer of skin to come off?  Thank you for any help.
