Q: A bump has appeared right on my mole, it is somewhat painful, may this be cancer?

The bump is the color of my skin, and is probably almost the size of a dime. My mole lays right on top of it. It is on my face but is not very noticeable unless i stretch my skin at the location, then you can see the bump. Im wondering if I should just wait a week or two to see if anything changes before I consult a dermatologist, Im assuming if it is cancer it won't go away, hopefully it is just some sort of pimple.
