Hi there
I am so sorry that you have gotten this news. But please don't panic. Most times skin cancer and even melanoma is highly treatable and cureable.
Questions you may want to ask:
1. Has the cancer spread beyond the skin?
2. What sort of surgery will they be doing to remove the melanoma? What are the risks?
3. What is the healing/recovery process like? What can we expect in terms of time it takes to heal and possible complications?
4. What are the chances of the melanoma returning? What signs do we look for?
Our Dr. Kevin Berman has written a good post about what to do after you have been diagnosed with skin cancer you may want to read.
Here is more information about Melanoma.
I know this must be such a worrisome time for you and your husband. Please let us know if there is any specific information or resources you may need.
Thank you so much for reaching out here. I do hope you will stay in touch.
