Q: pls explain efudex vs. freezing in pre-cancerous skin legion; pros & cons of both

am abt to have 'freezing' technique done on small (less than 3/8" round "blister" on top of right shoulder) that was shaved off and biopsied - returnee "pre-cancerous. Derm Dr. wants to use 'freezing' to ensure all cells are destroyed. Friend told me that that method is not always best.  That it can damage healthy tissue and leave scarring.  Your thoughts/recommendations. Thank you.

Have had this simple procedure done many time over the years and it is virtually painless. Feels like a cold burn but is over in seconds.

Trouble is, it doesn't always work and the lesion may re-appear down the road requiring re-treatment or surgical removal.

Treatments at the dermatologist are expensive if you don't have medical insurance.

I live ( retired ) in Mexico and supposedly there is a new home treatment here that is avaiable over the counter where you can buy the aerosol can of freezing material and do it yourself for a fraction of the cost.

Contact me again in a few weeks and i will let you know what I found out.
