it's considered by some a pre-cancerous stage or by others it is considered clinically "squamous cell carcnoma" of the epithelial layer of the skin. It can under certain circumstances challenge the treating MD because cells can "hide in the pores of the skin" making total eradication of the cancer a bit difficult. MOHS surger is probably the best approach because the doctor will remove every last bit and check to make sure that the borders of the incisions are free of any cancer cells.
It needs immediate treatment.
