Is this skin cancer?

I have noticed a tiny spot,like a scratch on my face.It is very very small,feels a little sore and I have the sense that it is a little bit swoolen beneath.I can't remember gettin hurt although this could have happened while playing with my baby granddaughter.I have had it for less than a week I guess.Could this be skin cancer?Do I have to rush to the doctor?I am absolutely scared to death

Basal Cell is not life threatening, and is the slowest growing skin cancer of the 3.  You should have it looked at.  A simple biopsy from a dermatologist will answer your question.  I had melanoma and I now get everything biopsied, just to be sure.  I guess you can say, I am a little paranoid still.
