I have been using carac for actinic keratosis on my face.  I have used neosporin cream to provide some comfort.  Is that okay.  A friend of mine who is using the same treatment was told "not" to use neosporin because of the side effects.   ???  Is that true and can I continue to use it?

Thank you

Thanks for your question.  Unfortunately, I was not able to find information to get an answer for you.  You may consider calling your pharmacist or doctor to see if it is ok to use.

Maybe one of our community members can help too!

All the best, sue

Hi John, thanks for your question. I would advise you to check with your doctor before using any over-the-counter or prescription medications in addition to the Carac (fluorouracil). You may want to check http://www.healthline.com/multumcontent/fluorouracil-topical?brand=Carac for more information on Carac.

Actinic Keratosis is a precancerous skin condition that develops when the skin is exposed to sun.
