Q: I have a old scar from removal of a small Basel cell carcinoma removed from my face over 12 years ago. It has recently become inflamed again. rough red in colored with flaky skin, very tricky to.

Its very sore, when shaving, and is not the same every day, some days are better than others. I am using an emollient and E45 itch creme.

Hi Brian

 

One of the things you have to look out for with any type of skin cancer is a recurrence.  It is possible for skin cancer to come back at the same site on the body.

 

I would have this looked at by a dermatologist to make sure that this is something benign and not a recurrence.
