I had something similar. I noticed that my dandruff was getting worse and I didn't really paid attention, it went to the back of my ears first, then to the skin in my actual ears, sometimes I used my nails to removed dead skin during the day from my ears. But I neglect it and didn't do anything about it, I used the regular dandruff shampoos but they didn't work at all. This was for a long time, more than a year, and then I had the problem in my right eyelid, maybe the infection spread there. Then I learned about nizoral shampoo by a doctor at a party. It works really REALLY well; the problem in my ears disappeared almost immediately and my problem in my eyelid is much much better, see my reply below on Jan 19, 2009.
